The Hong Kong SAR Government’s Greater Bay Area Development Promotion Center successfully hosted the “Startups and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Lunch Sharing Session” at O2 Park Makerspace in Haizhu District, Guangzhou. The event attracted around 80 business representatives and guests, with the goal of exploring how to achieve sustainable development in business operations and promote ESG practices.
The session began with insightful speeches from the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Greater Bay Area Development Commissioner and leaders from the Guangdong Provincial Human Resources and Social Security Department, emphasizing the importance of ESG for long-term business development and social responsibility.
During the luncheon, company representatives shared experiences in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In a special segment, four business representatives from the cultural and creative, construction, environmental, and education sectors shared their ESG practice experiences. Each presentation was highly inspiring, offering valuable insights to the attendees.
Following the lunch, there was a tour of the park, where Mr. Xiao, the park’s asset manager, introduced startups within the space. Among them, Ms. Bonnie Yip, Executive Director of Learning Bridge Association, shared her collaboration with the Guangzhou Ignition Project, discussing how co-creation and inclusion in the arts within the Greater Bay Area play a role in ESG. Her presentation highlighted the crucial role of art in social responsibility and sustainable development, deepening attendees’ understanding of ESG. After the tour, participants experienced the innovative atmosphere of the Greater Bay Area.
